WPC: If Walls Could Talk

These are the walls
I’ve seen so many times
They’ve witnessed quite a lot
Even all those lost dimes
They’ve gotten to know me
Passing by them year after year
The steeple church praised me proudly
Gave me hope, love, and cheer
While my sister’s bedroom,
Pages from magazines
And lyrical decoration,
Remains an empty shell
She being away
Living a life that is pretty swell
If these walls could speak
They’d tell of the pain
Of being pricked and prodded
By all those tacks, nails, refrain
And I’d tell them to just shush
Because they’re doing me a favor
Giving me a place to stay
We’ll talk politics later
