Weekly Photo Challenge: Wish
Weekly Photo Challenge: Wish
The clouds of June 2016 are now just a distant memory, but of course they don’t know that. I don’t want to sound sentimental but those were some good clouds. Fluffy like a pillow.
Goodbye, June and hello to the second half of 2016. What does the rest of the year hold in store for me? Well, I’m turning the big 25 (that line in Sugar Ray’s “Fly” is finally going to relate to me – I can’t believe it) and going to a casino for the first time. Then it’s off to Kansas in October to see little E and celebrate Halloween. Then the small clan is going to celebrate New Year’s Eve in a hotel – something different from the usual stay at home where I play Auld Lang Syne like a champ on the old Andy Griffith guitar and pop champagne over my dad’s head, much to his thrill (sarcasm).
Traveling slowly, slowly, my gaze from the ground;
Recalling spring days, when I was a little one,
When the storms would pass over, the rain relinquishing to fun
I walked that long lonely highway, the cars passing me by,
Felt the air shatter with noise, a great hawk’s cry;
The sun on the horizon, golden yellow tart,
A beautiful blue canvas, white fluffy art
My vision was great, my mind was relaxed
Looking for my inspiration, dullness of my tracks;
Looking through the clouds, for thy shape that is vast,
Darkness of the trees, evening approaching fast
The long stretching wires, electrical eeriness
I’ve found my safe haven, there’s no need to fear this
In response to The Daily Post’s weekly photo challenge: “Inspiration.”
Through the clouds like a bird, what a sight I heard, looking down upon the earth
Taking the theme of the challenge this week literally was quite easy since I already had pictures of clouds in my vast depository. I actually used most of these for One Word Photo Challenge: Sapphire last year. But I was lucky enough for the clouds to be voluminous and fluffy to get these pictures for One Word Photo Challenge: Cloudy. The last picture had always reminded me of the opening scene of “The Simpsons” and I just decided to add the title font today (not quite the same though), and it’s quite a striking resemblance, as if the show creators were looking up at similar clouds for inspiration, or if I’m just imagining things.
I missed the first day of Photography 101 because I signed up late, but no bother: here is what I call the house of my dreams, taken while walking alongside a busy road one day. I love the shadow that is being cast by the tree in front and how all three trees and the shrubberies seem to guard the house.
And here are my pictures for the second day of Photo 101: the boulevard of my mobile community dressed in its annual snowy white and a monstrous overcast above the main road in my hometown.
