Vespa Life

vespa

A Vespa scooter or maybe just a regular moped. Either one is basically a nerdy motorcycle. Vespa means wasp in Italian and resembles one with its small size and the buzzing sound of its small engine, propelling the scooter along with just enough speed to outrun old Granny Johnson. No, this isn’t mine but I would have a blast riding around on one.

Easy Rider – an album

What comes to mind in this picture is the idea for a rock album, specifically one that may involve songs of being on a journey, revelations, and finding oneself. I even went to the trouble to create the actual CD art for this album and the square cover art seen on the case (it surprises me that CDs are still surviving in the music industry with the rise of online music stores – and the easiness to just download songs for free). The toning down of this picture to a grayscale has a powerful effect, making the image subtler and timeless.

Obviously, all of the songs fit in with the motorcycle/journey theme of the album. The song “Colton” would be about a junior at my high school last year who was involved in a fatal car crash and how life can deal you the most inopportune fate sometimes. A sort of tribute to him and what how his life might have been if something had told him not to drive home from the prom that night. On this album, there would be a contrast of lighter, faster paced songs, and more darker and emotionally packed ballads.

Tots, Clocks, Bikes, and Air

A few more of my favorite things…

0717141745-00Golden Tater Tots: A family classic. A favorite food of a classic cult character.

Clocks: Time comes in many forms; also a visual representation of Coldplay’s hit.

0712141910-00 (2)Badass Bikes: Belonging to some big badass bikermen and bikerchicks at a motorcycle rally. Not even close to the size of the Sturgis gathering held every year. Bikers come from miles away to participate in that one. At this particular one, I got near the stage where a cover band was playing and it was LOUD! I thought the whole place was going to blow up or something.

Max-Air: A high flying exhilaration ride that turns your world upside down. Just don’t get hit in the head by falling shoes. Reminds me of a pendulum clock, only this one belongs to Death himself. BTW, check out this eight year old on the Gatekeeper, a ride I had high hopes for when I first rode it this year but was kind of let down.

The 365 Project of 2014 continues on facebook

Besides that, I am also getting a business together that focuses on creating videos for special events, as well as offering photo collages, photo books, and possibly in the future a whole line of party supplies. All of this is an if because I don’t know if the business will even get off the ground let alone having one customer approach me. Doesn’t hurt to try.
