Narcissism

Here are some signs you are a narcissist:

1. You take way too many selfies
2. Constantly checking your Facebook posts for likes and comments
3. You get depressed when you don’t receive any attention on the latest selfie you uploaded to Facebook, Instagram, etc.
4. You expect admiration from others in order to feel better.
5. You have no empathy for others, no feeling
6. No shame for your actions
7. You see yourself as perfect, creating an illusion
8. Very arrogant and boastful
9. Envious of others successes and attributes, you want to put others down
10. Can’t see the world from someone else’s perspective

I may as well abandon

My attempts to wed the girl

Because of my innerself calling

My self-centered world

It’s always about me, myself, and I

Every single day

My interest in my beautiful self

Can never be pulled away

Those mirrors are an evil

The poison of eternity

They continually call to me

“Here, birdie, birdie”

The days tend to be lonely

Because I can’t let anyone else in

I am a narcissist

What’s your name again?

Abandoned

Tiny Beings

tiny strings

that hold us together

fragile and small

like wooden arms and legs

clacking against the hard counter

Artificial, Tiny

The Uprising

The revolt is set

The crowd is ready to rush in

Order will be torn apart

The onslaught of the inevitable sin

Grab your guns, grab your armor

It’s going to be a real dogfight

To defend our rights, uphold our honor

The uproarious hysteria filling the night

Anti-government, rise against the machine in full bloom

Not holding back, the tank turrets go BOOM!

At the end of it all, the battlefield lay strewn

Over a thousand souls exhausted, the painting of DOOM

And now the power rests in the hands of the victorious few

A wartorn flag is planted in the cold hard blue

The New Order has risen, salute and respect us now

Until the fallen have their revenge, for the kings and queens they bow

Inspired by listening to “Uprising” by Muse, which got me pumped up today, as all songs by Muse do. They are one my favorite bands of all time. I was going for a power walk today, listening to a set of my favorite songs through my headphones, when this great song came up, instantly having a powerful effect over me. I can instantly trust that I’ll like any of Muse’s songs that play on the radio or I play on YouTube, which I was doing today. The album The Resistance, which includes, “Uprising”,  won the Grammy for Best Rock Album in 2011 and I can’t argue with the selection. There’s a real sense of urgency with the these lyrics, the powerful motive to rise up and revolt against governmental control and other organizations such as Scientology.

This Is Our Year

The Cubs are going to win, you bet your lucky stars
The Curse is going to die this year, the most ridiculous thing by far
All these years they’ve been dreamin’ only to come up short
Now Chicago’s north side will endlessly celebrate, sadness is no more
The Billy Goat force thought it could win again
But the true talent of the Cubs would not give in

And guess what? They did win!

Klumsy

I am sometimes so clumsy and forgetful that I end up losing something important. This could be credit/debit cards or microSD cards (which BTW, is the name everyone uses for those tiny cards, even if they aren’t made by SanDisk). That is why I have had to spend so many dollars on those small cards, wanting to have one for my camera and phone so I don’t have to keep switching out. I’ve also lost my share of guitar picks (they’re awkward to use anyway).

I’ve tripped and fallen over various shoes, kicking them out of the way in frustration, even swearing at them. The shoes then proceed to just stare at me in a mocking way, sitting on the spot, as if it isn’t their fault. This is the same with the cupboard doors. I’ll hit my melon sized head on one as I raise it from the counterspace, yowling in pain, slamming the culprit really hard. Really stupid because a dish breaks or something falls off the wall, like a mirror, shattering into many shards, little pieces I don’t notice being stepped on later (like but happened a couple weeks ago).

There was once a clumsy lad named Mike
Whose dad never taught him to ride a bike
He fell to the ground
And broke his crown
That was the end of that knight

Clumsy

The spelling of the word “clumsy” in the title refers to the character K. Lumsy in Donkey Kong 64, the big monster that was somehow locked in a cage too big for the rock enclosure it was in.

Diamond Jubilee

The luck of the spin
The chance of the draw
How will you win
Win, win, win it all
It’s your big day
So play to heart’s content
May the odds be in your favor
Make a big dentslots

You must be careful though
Not to lose it all
‘Cuz it’s easy to get addicted
And suffer a great fall
So hope to win a lot but
Stop when your luck plummets
And best of all have fun
At the happy gambler’s summit

So I went to the FireKeepers casino for the second time this year with my family, now an experienced vet of the gambling floor. Once again, finding the one machine I previously used (that was offering a good pay out ratio) was nearly impossible as the sea of slot machines was a navigational nightmare. The Diamond Jubilee slot machine was the winner today, with ten free spins coming after hitting three Jubilee spots on the machine and a continuous stream of wins coming out that made me stay there for about an hour. That greatly helped me build up my win total to nearly twenty dollars before I started losing some of it and cashed out. Yeah, I played a careful conservative game again, not quite up there with blue haired old ladies who would spend money all day at the slots, having nothing to lose. It’s always a thrill when you get on a sudden hot streak but a major let down when it suddenly ends and you should either cash out or end up with less than you started with.

Salad Days

Salad days of fresh green
Running, jumping through the fields
Easy come, easy go
Nothing going to hurt me

Jump

The Hike to Glory

The football season continues
Warriors come to battle
These foot soldiers in colorful wear
Under the lights, Monday night

Defend your turf
Reinforce the gate
Because the object of this game
Is to keep the enemy at bay

And at the end of it all
The gleaming prize you see
Is the legendary Lombardi trophy
Going to the last standing team

Free and easy soul

Look at the way she moves

Swift and furious

Across the smooth floor

The elusive dragonfly

Sway to ballroom beat

Strobe light paralysis

Blinded by love and music

Twinkle

The twinkle in the night

The gleam in the sky

Guiding me, guiding me

Leading me, leading me

Into the pale woods light

And if I lose my place

Among the stars

I’ll follow the unicorn blood

A glistening silver like mercury

Very unlike your’s or our’s
